Glow Plugs



Glow plugs are heating elements of known resistance. They are introduced in the pre-combustion chamber in such a way that when heated the glow plug comes into contact with the cold fuel-air mixture pumped by the fuel injection system, the temperature increases, enabling the cold engine to achieve compression ignition.

Pencil-type Glow Plugs

Pencil-type Glow Plogs are much more efficient than Coil Type Glow Plugs. Depending on the alloying elements in the heating element, a Pencil-type Glow Plug attains the operating temperature of 8500C between 4 to 40 seconds.

All Bosch Glow Plugs are nickel-coated which gives corrosion resistance tp the plugs, which in turn increases the life of the plugs.

Energy Saving

Bosch Glow Plugs use the patented Bosch Dual Coil technology for vehicles which require quick-start glow plugs. This Dual Coil technology enables the plug to provide the required temperature with minimum time and with minimum amount of current from the battery.

Environment-friendly

Bosch Glow Plugs have post-glow capability, which helps in a more complete and quieter combustion of the diesel fuel during the warm-up phase. The engine runs more smoothly right from the start and exhaust emission are considerably reduced.


Glow Control Unit

The Glow Control Unit is a modern electronic device that combines the functions of Glow Indicator, Glow Resistor and Glow Insulator.
